Managing Editor
Do you believe in transparency and want to hold government, corporations, and institutions accountable to the public trust? If so, we want you.
The Center for Public Integrity is seeking a seasoned investigative journalist with strong management skills and Web and data savvy to work with the executive director on editorial projects, from story ideas through publication. The managing editor will head up a newsroom of 20 reporters, researchers, fellows, and interns on projects as diverse as lobbying disclosure, global warming, and profiteering from the Iraq War. He or she will also work on collaborative projects with universities and other NGOs.
The Center for Public Integrity was founded in 1989 as a nonpartisan investigative journalism organization working in the public interest and focusing on the quality of its work, regardless of where the findings lead. The Center does not serve as an advocate for certain points of view nor does it take positions on issues. Rather, the Center seeks to do the hard digging and present the highly credible facts, thus serving as a catalyst for others to take action, change laws, or develop policy recommendations.
We are looking for candidates who have proven leadership skills managing people and projects.
Competitive salary and a generous benefits package. Located on Farragut Square with Metro access. The Center promotes a diverse workplace.
