Anadarko Petroleum is engaged in the exploration, development, production and marketing of natural gas, crude oil, condensate and natural gas liquids (NGLs). The company's major areas of operations are located in the U.S., primarily in Texas, Louisiana, the mid-continent region and the western states, Alaska and in the shallow and deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, as well as in Canada and Algeria. The company owns and operates gas gathering systems in its core producing areas and engages in the hard minerals business through non-operated joint ventures and royalty arrangements. On Dec. 31, 2003, proven reserves were: natural gas, 7. 72 trillion cubic feet; crude oil, condensate and NGLs, 1. 23 billion barrels.
